Corina Parral was a writer, pianist and composer from Argentina who fell in love with five-time Ecuadorian president José María Velasco Ibarra and when on to become First Lady of Ecuador.
As First Lady, Corina Parral worked tirelessly to protect minorities and at-risk groups promoting programs and facilities for orphans, battered women, elderly and homeless people, and more, which earned her the name of “la Evita ecuatoriana”.
