De por sí se podría traducir al inglés como in itself (by and of itself, by itself, of itself...). Sin embargo cuando va acompañada de ya se podue traducir de otras maneras, miremos estos ejemplos:
- La crisis económica mundial de este período ha contribuido a empeorar una situación (ya) de por sí dramática.
- The global economic crisis of the present time has further worsened an already dramatic
situation.
- Los sobrevuelos de Israel de por sí crean tensiones y encierran el potencial de provocar un incidente que podría agravar rápidamente la situación.
