SUMMARY:Special Event - Spanish Guided Tour at the MET Cloisters: Creatures of Myth & Imagination
DESCRIPTION:Come on a journey with us through the art\, culture and mythology of Spain and Latin America. \nTogether we’ll explore the exhibition Creatures of Myth and Imagination: Europe and the Americas housed at the MET Cloisters. Guided by our Academic Director\, Jorge Gallegos\, we’ll practice español while admiring and analyzing over 50 pieces\, including sculpture\, ceramics\, ivories\, textiles\, paintings\, and metalwork. \nThese works depicting supernatural beings\, possessing the power to transform and be transformed\, provide ample insights into the values of the European and American societies that created them. After the tour\, the group will go to a Dominican restaurant to have lunch and keep the Spanish conversation flowing. \nSpace is limited\, RSVP now! \nThe tour is completely in Spanish with English to clarify some specific topics. \nSpanish level: All levels are welcome\, but some knowledge of Spanish is highly recommended. \nMeeting point: Meet us at the museum’s entrance. If it’s too hot\, meet us by the reception desk inside the museum. Meeting time is 11:45 am. The tour will start at 12:00 pm on the dot. \n\n\n \nHow much: $45 for all; food not included. \nImportant note: this is a special event and the museum charges in advance per number of participants. Therefore\, we cannot provide a discount to MET members.
