DESCRIPTION:Let’s explore the rich world of El Greco on this exciting online tour in Spanish! \nOn this month’s virtual visit we’ll analyze and debate one of El Greco’s masterpieces\, View of Toledo (Vista de Toledo)\, currently housed at the MET. \n“Regarded as El Greco’s greatest landscape\, it portrays Toledo\, the city where he lived and worked for most of his life. But it is an emotive rather than a documentary vision that not only imaginatively revises the skyline—most notably\, the cathedral has been moved—but also distorts architecture and landscape such that they are fully in service of the kind of drama Rilke and other modernists appreciated in his work.” \nWe’ll also talk about the historical significance of Toledo in Spain and how Jewish and Muslim religions and traditions are intrinsically linked in Spanish and Hispanic culture. \nThe talk will be in Spanish with English for clarification only. \nSpanish level: Upper Beginners & Up \nWhere: Online Classroom \n\n\n \nHow much: $10 for non-members.  \nFREE for Easy Español Members / Private Students.
