Spain discovered a navigation route in 1565 that allowed the Spanish Empire to connect their territories in America and Asia effectively changing the course of history.
This trading route known as Tornaviaje, and later Galeón de Manila, sailed back and forth between the ports of Acapulco and Manila carrying a wide-range of goods such as cacao, ivory, silks, spices, sugar cane, corn, tobacco, and precious metals which were later distributed the world over.
