Las Patronas are a group of volunteer women from Veracruz who have been feeding and providing assistance to migrants riding across Mexico aboard the dangerous train known as “La Bestia” on their way to the United States border.
Starting in 1995 as a modest family endeavor, las Patronas have been providing food, shelter, medical assistance, and much needed comforting to the desperate migrants seeking a better life in the United States.
