Coca is a plant native to South America, particularly the Andes region, that can help overcome fatigue, hunger, thirst, altitude sickness, and all kind of aches.
Although in recent years the coca plant has been associated to the production of cocaine, this plant has played a major commercial, religious and cultural role in native Andes societies for thousands of years.
For the last few years, Bolivia, one of the countries where coca is most popular, has been working to bring this sacred plant back into the spotlight by encouraging the development of new coca-based products, like the recently announced coca toothpaste.
