El Cerro Rico de Potosí

The cerro rico (literally, rich mountain) in Potosi, Bolivia, is a mountain in the Andes famous for being the largest, richest silver mine in the world during the 16th and 17th centuries and which was exploited extensively by Spain to finance their empire and the better part of Europe.
