The Tiwanaku civilization was born along the shores of the Lake Titicaca (present day border between Peru and Bolivia) during the 16th century B. C.
Believed to be oldest civilization in Los Andes, the Tiwanaku people grew and expanded throughout centuries thanks to their agrigultural and trading capabilities, as well as their influential religious practices.
Although this civilization had collapsed by the 12th century A.D., their heritage still lives on in many other cultures of the region.
