The real first Thanksgiving dinner was in Florida

It was celebrated by Spanish soldiers in 1565 after reclaiming the town of San Agustin in Florida from the French.

To celebrate this event, the Spanish soldiers held a Thanksgiving mass and dinner, inviting the area’s native people for a feast with local and European dishes.
