Julia de Burgos was a poet, feminist and activist from Puerto Rico. From a very young age, Julia worked to advance Puerto Rico’s independence and achieve equal rights to all.
In her poems Julia told the story of Puerto Rico, its people, slavery, love, freedom, nature; in essence, everything she was passionate about.
