The Castillo de Chapultepec is located on top of Chapultepec Hill in Mexico City.
Originally, built in 1785, the castle served a variety of purposes, such as, summer house for the viceroy, military academy, and official residence for different presidents.
In 1939, Chapultepec Castle became the Museo Nacional de Historia which houses 12 permanent exhibition rooms depicting several eras of Mexican history and 22 rooms with historic recreations.
