Virtual Art Visit in Spanish: Goya’s The Dog

Let’s dive into one of the most captivating paintings by Francisco de Goya!
During this Online tour, we’ll take a closer look at The Dog, a simple, yet mesmerizing painting by one of the most renowned Spanish master artists.
Located at the Prado Museum in Madrid, this painting shows the head of a dog gazing upwards. The dog appears to be in distress, maybe drowning? and it is almost lost in the vastness of the rest of the image, which is empty except for a dark sloping area near the bottom of the picture.
El perro is one of Goya’s Black Paintings, which he painted directly onto the walls of his house sometime between 1819 and 1823 when he was in his mid-70s, living alone and suffering from acute mental and physical afflictions.
Join us as we discuss our different interpretations and learn great tips to look beyond the surface of the canvas, all en español!
The talk will be in Spanish with English for clarification only.
