Cristóbal Colón (Christopher Columbus) often gets credited for the controversial expedition that led to the “discovery” of the American continent. However, history often forgets that three Spanish brothers were instrumental in this undertaking.
Martín Alonso Pinzón, Francisco Martín Pinzón and Vicente Yáñez Pinzón were experienced sailors and explorers who not only participated in the journey, they recruited crew members, financially supported it, and served as captains of two of the mission’s carabelas La Pinta and La Niña.
