Easy Podcast: Sorolla, la luz del Mediterráneo

Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida is one of the most renowned Spanish artists of all times.

Originally from Valencia, Sorolla’s work stands out for his masterful use of brushstrokes and colors to capture light and sunlit water on people and landscapes in his portrayals of Mediterranean life and social criticism.

In 1911, Sorolla received a commission for the Hispanic Society of America Museum that resulted in his celebrated Visions of Spain series of 14 murals depicting the costumes and traditions of different Spanish regions.
