Course Overview

The main objective of this course is to help students learn and master the phonetic system of the Spanish language, so they can start speaking Spanish like a native. Students will develop their ability to listen accurately, which will allow them to decode messages and then produce them in an easier way. As they progress, students will learn about difficult sounds in Spanish pronunciation and will work on intonation and rhythm.

This is a practical course and some activities that will be carried out in the lessons are linguistic games, such as tongue twisters, palindromes, acrostics; reading texts in verse and prose; listening and pronunciation activities. Other activities will include reading of short dialogues, poems, and excerpts from stories and novels; songs, film clips, podcasts, videos, and free conversations on topics of common interest.
