Live the Spanish Language: Guided Art Tour & Lecture at The Hispanic Society of America + Dominican Food

Come live the Spanish language with us as we go on an adventure of art, culture, and mucho español in one of the finest museums of Spanish and Latin American art in the world.

This is a tour-class to explore the Hispanic Society of America, with its vast collection of art, sculptures, paintings and other important historical and archaeological relics from Spain, Portugal, Asia and Latin America.

Paintings from the sixteenth through the twentieth centuries hang in the walls of the Hispanic Society, representing religious figures, portraits of individuals of various backgrounds, in addition to a few abstract works. Together we will discover the works of Goya, Velazquez and El Greco and other master painters at the Hispanic Society.

This is a great opportunity to hone your conversational skills in Spanish and to learn about art and culture of Spain and Latin America.

After the tour, the group will head to a Dominican Restaurant for some food and drinks. This is optional, food is not included in the event’s cost.

Spanish level: Middle Beginners (level A2) and Up. Tour-class will be mainly in Spanish with English used for clarification and details.

Meeting Place: Once you arrive at the Hispanic Society, walk to the second patio crossing the iron fence. Entrance to the museum is some 40 yards into the second patio, over the left. Meet Jorge at the museum’s entrance.
