Some years ago a group of archaeologists discovered a cemetery in the Sumpa area of Ecuador in which they found the skeletons of a young couple that have been buried together while embracing approximately 6000 years prior.
This couple known as “los amantes de Sumpa” now rests in a museum erected to protect their burial site where the history of the lovers continues to intrigue and inspire countless people.
