The term ‘cholet’ derives from the combination of ‘cholo’ (native person) and ‘chalet’ (type of house) and it’s used to describe a new style of colorful and eye-catching buildings that are gaining popularity in the city of El Alto, Bolivia, among a rising class of Aymara business people and wealthy artisans to honor and promote Aymara culture.
