Maria Sabina was a Mazatec chamana (shaman) and curandera (healer) from a small town in Oaxaca. Best known for her vast knowledge of magic mushrooms, Maria was the first curandera to allow Westerners into her ceremonies.

Soon, her healing reputation started to spread and people from all over the world came looking for her magic cure. This list -alledgedly- includes some very famous names, such as: John Beddingfield Lennon, Aldous Huxley, Albert Hoffman, and even Walt Disney.
