Spanish Grammar Review: Más, mucho, poco and other ADVERBIOS DE CANTIDAD (Middle Beginners)

Check out this helpful Spanish Grammar review and spruce up your Spanish phrases with these important adverbs of quantity!

Adverbios are words that modify verbs, adjectives and other adverbs. Spanish adverbs are invariable; in other words, they don’t change for number or gender.

We use adverbios de cantidad (adverbs of quantity) to indicate the proportion or quantity of something and they help us answer the question ¿cuánto? (how much / many?):

  • ¿Cuánto caminas en la ciudad?
  • Yo camino mucho en la ciudad. –> Modifica a un verbo
  • Esta autopista es más rápida. –> Modifica a un adjetivo
  • El conductor conduce muy bien. –> Modifica a otro adverbio

Please note that the English equivalents are on the chart to give you an idea of their corresponding adverb, but these are not perfect equivalents. Some of these Spanish adverbs can be translated into English using different equivalents depending on the context.
