When telling time, do you find yourself hesitating between “EN la mañana, tarde, noche” or “DE la mañana, tarde, noche”?
It’s easy to get confused at first because in English we generally use the preposition “in”, but in Spanish we always use the preposition DE after stating the time.
- La clase es a las 9 de la mañana. The class is at 9 in the morning.
- Ella va al gimnasio a las 6 de la tarde. She goes to the gym at 6 in the afternoon.
- ¿Vamos al cine a las 10 de la noche? Do you want to go to the movies at 10pm?
