Andrés Bello was a Venezuelan humanist, diplomat, poet, legislator, philosopher, educator and philologist, whose political and literary works revolutionized their respective fields.
In 1847 he completed one of his greatest works: the “Gramática de la lengua castellana destinada al uso de los americanos” (Spanish Grammar for Spanish-Speakers of the Americas). This volume is one of the most comprehensive grammar works of any language and is still considered a valuable reference work nowadays.
